Our priority at Croxley Green Scout Group is to manage the composition of each Section (Beavers, Cubs & Scouts) with careful consideration of factors such as the number of volunteers we have to supervise and support the children, the needs of the current Scout Group children and the applicant on the Waiting List.
The allocation of spaces is ultimately at the discretion of our Group Leadership Team, who will primarily be guided by the following criteria, listed in order of descending priority:
1. Existing member of Croxley Green Scout Group moving up to the next Section i.e. from Beavers to Cubs or Cubs to Scouts,
2. Children whose parent or guardian currently volunteers as a Team Leader or Member in one of our Sections,
3. Children whose parent or guardian commit to volunteer as a Team Leader or Member at Croxley Green Scout Group for a period of 3 years or until their child leaves (whichever is earlier) – note the child will not receive a place until the parent or guardian has completed their Scouts basic training,
4. Children actively involved in another Scout Group who are relocating near Croxley Green Scout Group,
5. Time on the waiting list, with the exception that a child will not be allocated a space if their age meant they would spend a year or less within the Section they are eligible to join. In such cases, they would be given priority to join the next Section where feasible.
